Radically improve your on-camera presence.

Most of us feel uncomfortable or awkward when the camera starts rolling—whether it’s filming ourselves or being filmed by others. That self-consciousness can hold us back, making us stiff, nervous, or overly concerned with how we appear.

We have all witnessed moments where someone froze in front of the camera, or maybe even felt that anxiety ourselves. These feelings often stem from the fear of being judged, or the pressure to "perform" perfectly.

But what if the camera could feel less like an intimidating eye and more like a playful partner?

My workshop offers a simple, fun, and effective way to break through the discomfort. It uses playful exercises to help you ease into being filmed, allowing your natural self to shine.

Cameraplay invites participants to engage with the camera through non-verbal connection, movement, and group exercises that encourage presence and playfulness. You'll discover how to drop your camera-related anxieties and become comfortable in front of the lens.

Workshop Structure:

Part 1: (Un)learning the Basics

The workshop begins with a few foundational couple exercises designed to get you comfortable with the camera and with each other. We’ll focus on breaking the ice and getting out of our heads. And I will show you a simple trick that will open up a world of possibilities, and help you figure out what you need to feel comfortable and to reclaim your playful side.

Part 2: Group Play Session

In the second half, you’ll have the chance to apply what you've learned in a group play session. This is where you’ll experiment with both being filmed and filming others, moving beyond the roles of “behind” and “in front” of the camera, and creating authentic video moments.

Everyone will have the opportunity to experience both perspectives—being filmed and doing the filming—leading to a deeper understanding of how to authentically connect with others and the camera itself.

Lose the fear and awkwardness when filming yourself or being filmed.

  • Enhance your on-camera presence: Learn to feel at ease and natural while being filmed.
  • Tap into playfulness and creativity: Let go of stiff, overly planned movements, and embrace a spontaneous, relaxed approach to video-making.
  • Improve authentic expression: Whether you’re filming for personal projects or professional work, Cameraplay helps you show up as your true self.
  • Promote a relaxed atmosphere on set: Experience how being comfortable leads to more beautiful and authentic footage.
  • Mindful connections: Develop a deeper sense of connection with both the camera and your colleagues.
  • Creative expression: Explore how filming can become a collaborative and creative process, resulting in more genuine, visually appealing video footage.
  • Breaking free from your mask: Release the persona you feel you "should" present on camera and let your true self shine through.

This workshop will set you up on a journey of showing up more freely and confidently on camera which is an invaluable skill these days.

Cameraplay an excellent modality for effortlessly raising people's curiosity, playfulness and perspective. It is a very simple, quick and accessible way to get a group of up to 40 people out of their heads and in a playful mood, while exploring both presence and being SEEN in a group. We explore non-verbal ways of connecting with others that encourages movement and allows participants to start wiggling out of their default persona.
